Growing up in a small town of Sutter, California there isn't a whole lot to do outside of the hobbies you make. One of those hobbies that fascinated Steven in his collage days was brewing beer. After reading books he and a close friend jumped straight into all grain brewing and joined a local club (MASH - More Alcohol Should Help). He eventually moved to the bay area, finding a new brew club (DOZE, Diablo Order of Zymiracle Enthusiasts), becoming a BJCP beer, cider, and mead judge, and landing a job producing beer at East Brother Beer Company.

Much like the name implies his is attention started shifting towards mead making in 2019. After winning many awards from prestigious competitions like Mazer Cup and Valkyrie's Horn, the decision was made to try and bring mead to the masses and SideTrack was born!

The SideTrack Mead mission is to introduce and popularize mead by being approachable, adventurous, and fun. With this we hope to put mead on the menu with beer, cider, and wine so everyone has a chance to Get SideTrack'd!
